Don't you love it when great artists are convinced their work is crap? It's like hearing that honors student cry because they got an A- You know, the ones whose legs you break after class because you got a D after studying all weekend? Personally I can't draw more than stick figures, and was drawn to this comic because of the alluring art, then captivated by the addictive story. Then proceeded to get my friends hooked on it one by one as if it were cocaine. I can understand comics going on hiatus, CascadeFailure for instance just came back after months, but really; at least come up with a better excuse than "my art sucks" otherwise your legs will be next Do enjoy the holidays, your fans down here in the Southern US are cheering you on, and can't wait for new pages. -From us poor art impaired science majors

I would be one of those friends genericguestnamegeneric addicted. And this is one of my favorites. Why must you go. Don't be like that. I love it! You have an excellent talent and need to stop being so emo in your part of the world. If you are unsatisfied, change it up. Try out new techniques or something. Be proactive, not counterproductive. Happy Holidays. Come back soon. We miss you! ;D

Hmmm. I thought I named other excuses other than "my art sucks" like how I recently moved from Nevada to New Jersey, and how the holidays have sucked a lot of time and life out of me.
While waiting to move into our new house (we'll be able to move in around January 11th), my husband and I have been crowded into his childhood bedroom in his parent's house with all of our pets and some of our belongings. I currently have no access to a scanner (most of our things are packed in boxes currently, in storage). The resident bugs in this house are eating me alive and I'm covered in horrifying, itchy rashes. All of these factors have contributed to struggles with depression and my anxiety attacks.
Hopefully these excuses are more adequate? Or should I go into more detail? I could talk about my pets falling ill and dying, or perhaps my grandmother who's ready to pass away and I can't even spare the money to go visit her.
I was trying to be polite when I announced the hiatus. I don't enjoy people knowing all the details of my personal life. Is that what it's going to take? Please try to be understanding.
Right now just isn't a good time for me to try and do comics. I'm sorry that it's an inconvenience to you. Oriyan is important to me. How could I not grow attached to it after pouring hours upon hours into its creation and development? That being said, with all that's going on in my life right now, webcomics take the back seat.

Sorry Jes, was going by what you gave us on the front page =P Your art is awesome, and hearing anyone talk bad about it seems wrong, even if its you. Hope everything gets better soon, sorry if it came off unappreciative, we love Oriyan.
